Sugar and a Two-year old

Today I made gingersnap cookies to be delivered to a wonderful lady in our ward who blessed us with an incredible gift for Isaac for Christmas. I hadn't finished cleaning up all of my mess yet, as we ate dinner immediately after I had finished cooking them. On the table I had left a bowl with some sugar in it that I had been rolling the cookies in. After dinner we started getting ready for FHE and then the phone rang. I was talking on the phone while Ben was still experimenting with his scone making abilities when Sabrina found the sugar bowl. I had poured way too much sugar in the bowl in the first place and I just needed to throw the rest away, and had planned to after FHE.

We started FHE and Sabrina was running around like a crazy woman (more than usual). No shirt on, no pants on, jumping up and down off the couches, throwing her head back and forth like the Beattles would in a concert and just being wild. I asked Ben what happened to her. He explained that she did eat a "little" sugar from the bowl on the table. I asked "How much?". He said that she and Ike finished it all. Ben thought it was just a little more than a tablespoon, he didn't realize that when Ike asked if he could eat some there was nearly a cup in there. I guess Ike only got a tablespoon. When I told Ben how much was in there, we both just started laughing, since there wasn't much else to do at that point. The crazy woman and her brother finally got into bed. And then the little chatterbox started. She kept her brother up an extra hour just jabbering away about all sorts of things from the snow that was falling outside, to going to the library, her slippers, her dollies, and anything else she could come up with. Finally after she took a break to the bathroom, Ike was able to fall asleep. She on the other hand was up way past her bedtime singing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" until nearly 9:15pm. I am pretty sure that the white sweet substance had something to do with it.

That is hilarious. I hope your cookies turned out well. Next time, toss the sugar first!
